HELP GROW OUR RESCUE
We have approximately 30 acres of property on which we'd like to expand! With your help we can help other northern breeds, provide low cost boarding for rescues that have no room, and eventually train some of these dogs to become service animals for those that need them but cannot afford them. We have all this space and due to a mix-up in our initial filing with the IRS paperwork, we were accidentally classified by the IRS as a private foundation, rather than a public charity. Which means we are tax exempt but cannot apply for support from many corporate sponsors due to their guidelines. We have no idea how long this will take to be fixed as no one seems to know. Anywhere from 180 days to 5 years! Until then we are entirely self-funded and receive donations from faithful supporters. Apparently, even if we refile everything, for another $600 of course, it can take months or years to complete. Please help us continue because with our current standing we can't even contact some companies for assistance with dog food, the most basic necessity.
As we have said we have big plans for these dogs who have so much to offer. They are such a loyal, loving, incredibly smart and hard working breed. Help us start on those big plans as not many rescues have the acreage we have that can be developed to do so much more than just rescue these dogs. There are only so many pet homes out there and even less that can handle a large stubborn breed like the Alaskan Malamute. But if they are trained for jobs like service animals, Search and Rescue, etc., then they will have so many more opportunities. Is it fair for a military veteran to come home in need a service animal and be told that it will cost thousands of dollars? Or a needy child? These dogs are the perfect option to be trained for these jobs.

Welcome To mid missouri malamute rescue aka "Decator's Place"
Mid Missouri Malamute Rescue is a 501 (c) (3), all volunteer dog rescue foundation nestled in the heart of Missouri wine country. Our mission is dedicated to helping shelter and home Alaskan Malamutes in need (and yes, our fair share of Huskies!), the promotion of good spay and neuter practices, informing people about the breed, and helping promote good stewardship of this magnificent, dignified breed of dog that has touched and changed our lives! Join us in this rewarding endeavor!
Our ability to help these wonderful animals is solely dependent on your generosity. Please find it in your heart to donate so we may help as many Huskies and Malamutes as possible.
Get Involved
Our goal is to help every dog and family that we can but we need your help. We are always in need of FOSTER HOMES to temporarily care for our out of states dogs until they are transported to us, as well as volunteers to evaluate and/or transport dogs to and from various locations around Missouri and beyond. Of course, donations of dog food, supplies, and money are always welcome as well.
